Shipping
When will my order ship?
Orders ship Monday-Wednesday to allow for the proper care and timely arrival of your order to align with the USPS schedule.
Orders placed from Sunday to Tuesday will ship the next business day or by Wednesday.
Orders placed from Wednesday to Saturday will ship by Tuesday of the following week.
Please keep in mind that these shipping times are subject to change during holidays or in case of production delays.
Where do you ship?
Our website currently ships to U.S addresses only and does not ship to P.O boxes.
Unfortunately, we are unable to ship to Alaska and Hawaii at this time.
Please ensure all shipping address information is correct and that you have provided a street address, company name, suite or apartment number when applicable to ensure proper delivery. We are not responsible for orders delayed or returned due to an incorrect or undeliverable address.
What are the shipping options?
Basic Shipping: Chocolates will arrive via USPS (2-3 day) shipping, in USPS Priority Flat Rate box. We found this to be the most economical and effective shipping method for our chocolates and customers.
Gift Shipping: Elevated presentation in white, Umber Chocolates shipping box, shipping 1-2 Day Air via UPS.
Do you offer local delivery?
At this time, we only offer local delivery for bulk orders within the greater Pittsburgh, PA, area. If you are placing a bulk order and are interested, please reach out to us directly.
We do, however, have local, in-store pickup (see details below).
In-Store Pickup
Umber Chocolates offers local, in-store pickups through our partner Merchant Coffee Co [922 Merchant St, Ambridge, PA 15003]. Please see Merchant Coffee Co’s updated store hours by clicking here.
Fulfillment of pickup orders can take up to 48 hours, depending on the time of year and time of day that your order was placed.
After placing your order, you will receive an order confirmation to the email address that you provided during checkout. Once your order is ready for pickup, you will receive a second email.
Go to front counter and be prepared to provide a print out or screenshot or your order AND photo ID.
Other Frequently Asked Questions
How long do your chocolates last?
Our chocolates are best consumed within 4 weeks of receiving. Remember, that since our chocolates are not mass produced, freshness is key and we recommend consuming as soon as possible.
How should I store your chocolates?
It is always best to keep them out of the heat AND out of direct sunlight, as they will begin to melt around 80 degrees Fahrenheit, or 27 degrees Celsius.
If necessary, you can put your chocolates in the refrigerator, but please remember that chocolates will absorb the smells of your fridge. For that reason, we recommend putting the box in a plastic wrap or Ziploc bag when resorting to keeping them in the refrigerator.
How far in advance should I request a special/custom order?
Special and custom orders are freshly made to order. We ask that you please send your special order/bulk request at least 4 weeks prior to your delivery date. This will ensure we have enough time to customize, make, and ship your product.
However, we encourage you to call us if it is last minute! We will do what we can to help.
Do you have bulk pricing for your products?
We do offer bulk pricing on our products. You can inquire by sending a request through our Contact Us page.
Do you offer refunds?
Due to the perishable nature of our products, we do not offer refunds or replacement items but don’t hesitate to reach out to us if there is a problem with your order. When possible, please include photos as we try to improve our process.
